Heritage Perch Series: Moose Head
Finding a convenient place to store your bicycle always seems create an awkward feeling. If you lean your bike against the wall, it's always at risk of being bumped, knocked over, or the handlebars and tires scuff your walls. If you buy a fancy floor stand, same deal. Plus, the bike takes up even more space.Wall racks can solve that problem, but it’s hard to find a rack that works well without marking up your bike’s paint. It’s even harder to find one that isn’t, well, an eyesore.
Fashion and design can improve daily life, but only if function follows. Heritage set out to create a whimsical bike rack that is a statement piece on its own as well as a no-nonsense storage solution that is kind to your beloved steed.
Heritage worked with local designer Dan Schaumann to develop a rack utilizing a sustainable yet durable material with a vintage aesthetic that fits into daily bike life.
Milled in Chicago from recycled high density polyethylene (HDPE), the rack comes in earthy colors that fit into any interior while able to handle outdoor weather.
Assembly is a snap: use anchors or fasteners to mount the backing pieces to your wall, then slot the remaining pieces together.
The Heritage Perch Moosehead rack can accommodate the tight inner triangle of a small, modern race bike, and the weight of a large classic cruiser at the same time. Oval top tubes are no problem either, as we designed the antlers with a wide curve to gently hold newer carbon fiber and aluminum frames.
Also, the moose's mouth is left agape to hold your helmet, lock, bag, or another varied accessory you need to store with your bike.
The rack currently has a weight limit of 29 pounds. Again, if we're funded this round, we'll develop another rack with thicker material for heavier bikes.
